BORO PARK — As the long-awaited move into Florida's new Lakefront community gets underway, a farewell gathering was held in Boro Park for one of the development's first incoming residents.

Friends and acquaintances gathered around the table Tuesday night for the mesibas preidah, marking the resident's departure from Boro Park and upcoming relocation to Lakefront.

The gathering comes as the ambitious new Chassidish community near Okeechobee moves from years of planning and construction into its next stage: welcoming its first families.

Lakefront is being developed with housing and a full array of infrastructure intended for Chassidish families, including shuls, mosdos, a mikvah and community facilities. Florida records confirm that several of those communal institutions have already been formally established.
