MOLDOVA-UKRAINE BORDER — Yidden traveling to Uman for Rosh Hashanah faced a lengthy wait at the Moldova-Ukraine border as the final wave of mispallelim continued making its way into Ukraine ahead of Yom Tov.

Footage from the journey shows a long line of vehicles stopped along the roadway, with travelers waiting outside as they make their way toward Uman.

With Ukrainian airspace closed to civilian aviation, travelers heading to Uman are arriving through neighboring countries before completing the journey overland. Moldova has become one of the major transit routes, with several Moldova-Ukraine border crossings being used by those heading to Uman.

The pressure on the routes has increased as Rosh Hashanah approaches. More than 16,000 visitors had already reached Uman by September 9, according to figures reported by the United Jewish Community of Ukraine, with additional groups continuing to arrive.

This year's timing makes delays particularly significant, with Rosh Hashanah beginning at sundown Friday, leaving travelers still en route with a rapidly narrowing window to reach Uman before Yom Tov.
