Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukrainian forces carried out overnight strikes against targets deep inside Russia, including the Yaroslavl oil refinery and a military airfield in Rostov-on-Don. He stated that an An-12 transport aircraft, two An-26 aircraft, and three helicopters were damaged in the airbase attack. Zelensky also reported “good results” in the Black Sea, where footage released by Ukrainian sources showed drones striking vessels. The operations involved a joint effort by the Security Service of Ukraine, the Unmanned Systems Forces, Defense Intelligence, and the Foreign Intelligence Service.

In his remarks Zelensky thanked Ukrainian warriors for making Russia feel the war every day and insisted that Moscow must choose peace. The claims of successful strikes on both energy infrastructure and military aviation assets mark a continued effort to extend the conflict beyond the front lines. The announcement leaves open questions about the full extent of the damage and how Russia will respond to the reported attacks. For now Kyiv is presenting the overnight actions as evidence that it can reach strategic targets far from the border.
