A Russian drone strike tore through Kyiv's Sviatoshynskyi district overnight, slamming into a warehouse packed with props, sets, and costumes belonging to Kvartal 95, the comedy studio Volodymyr Zelensky co-founded back in 2003. The building went up in flames, and with it went twenty years worth of material from the studio's concerts, television shows, films, and its breakout hit series Servant of the People. State Emergency Service crews rushed to the scene and battled thick smoke and intense fire late into the night, footage of the blaze showing firefighters working the industrial site as flames lit up the sky. Kvartal 95 confirmed no studio personnel were hurt in the attack, even as the warehouse and everything inside it burned to the ground.

For a studio that helped launch Ukraine's now-president into public life, the loss cuts deep, and Kvartal 95 did not shy away from saying so, calling the destroyed props and costumes a piece of their creative history. Still, the team was defiant, insisting that Russian weapons can destroy property but cannot stop them from working, writing new material, or supporting Ukraine's soldiers. The strike came the same night a warehouse belonging to the Olena Zelenska Foundation, which stores humanitarian aid for Ukrainian families, was also destroyed nearby, underscoring how deeply the overnight barrage cut into Kyiv's civilian and cultural infrastructure. Kvartal 95 says its scheduled concerts will go on regardless, props or no props.
