PICKAXE MOUNTAIN UNDER WATCH: Trump Says US Sees Every Entrance And Exit
President Donald Trump says the United States is watching Iran's Pickaxe Mountain, a fortified site near Natanz, and can see every entrance, every exit and everyone going in or out. He warns that the US military can strike at any moment if Iran plays games, and in the video he says he has a decision to make: finish it off, which he calls very easy to do, or make a deal. He has also joked that American surveillance is so sharp it can read the name tag on an Iranian fighter's coat from space, a line he used at the Republican midterm convention in Dallas, where he also told Iran not to "get cute" after noting "a little activity" at the site. Those remarks are Trump's own claims, and I found no independent confirmation of what US surveillance can actually see at the mountain.
Pickaxe Mountain, known in Iran as Kuh-e Kolang Gaz La, is a tunnel complex reportedly buried as deep as 100 meters under granite, about a mile from the Natanz enrichment plant. Iran says it has been building a centrifuge assembly plant there since 2021, and satellite images show Iran reinforcing the site against airstrikes, while some nonproliferation experts argue it must be neutralized before the war ends. The war that began on February 28 stopped in early April with a ceasefire, and on October 25 Iran's foreign minister said Iran's policies would not change even if war resumed, noting that the US and Israel had already tried twice. The big questions now are whether Trump will really choose force or a deal, what the mountain actually holds, and whether a strike could even reach it.
