Harav Yaakov Meir Shechter Shlit"a Being Menachem Avel the Yesomim of Reb Duki Greenwald Z"L
The Rebbe Shlit"a was shown a photograph of Duki, his signature smile lighting up his face. He was then asked a heartbreaking question: "Now that the orphans are left completely alone, without a father or a mother, how can we give them chizuk? How can we strengthen them?"
The Rebbe gazed at the picture, smiled, and responded simply: "He is alive!"
The Rebbe then elaborated on the true meaning of life and legacy. "May the Aibershter help the family continue to grow and multiply, with more and more children being born. That is the true simcha in Shamayim!"
"When a person goes up to the Next World, what is the simcha there? What did you accomplish in this world? The answer is that you were zocheh to be a part of Klal Yisroel. Declaring 'Shema Yisroel Hashem Elokeinu Hashem Echad', fasting on Yom Kippurโthat is what you accomplished in this world.
"However," the Rebbe continued, "the greatest schar is when a person brings children into the world and gives them a proper chinuch. That is the very reason a person comes down to this worldโto ensure that our holy emunah continues to be passed down to the next generation."
The Rebbe then offered a heartfelt bracha: "May the Aibershter help the family multiply with many more tzaddikim and chassidim, until we reach the tikkun hashelem, b'ezras Hashem."
Following his profound words of chizuk, the Rebbe softly sang a Chassidishe tenuah. He then was menachem avel the grieving family, leaving them with a warm bracha: "You should be healthy, wealthy, and happy!"
