Masbia Soup Kitchen Network is continuing its High Holiday food distribution efforts in Flatbush, providing fresh produce and other groceries to families in need ahead of Yom Kippur.

Fresh produce was being distributed from Masbia's Flatbush operation this week as the organization works to ensure that struggling families have food during the Yom Tov season.

Masbia is currently running its annual High Holiday campaign to help provide food for thousands of families across New York. The organization operates soup kitchens and food pantries in Flatbush, Boro Park and Queens, providing both prepared meals and grocery packages.

At the Flatbush location on Coney Island Avenue, families can receive packages of raw groceries to prepare at home, while hot meals are served through the location's dining room. The pantry currently offers more than 2,000 appointment slots each week.

Across its network, Masbia says it currently serves more than 300 hot dinners each night and distributes close to 1,000 grocery packages each day, five days a week.

The latest Flatbush distribution comes during the Aseres Yemei Teshuvah, as Masbia continues its effort to provide families facing food insecurity with groceries for the High Holiday season.
