Satellite imagery has revealed Iran’s ongoing reconstruction of the Ahmad Qazemi underground missile base in Isfahan, damaged during Israel’s Operation Rising Lion in the June 2025 Twelve-Day War. By December 2025, new structures and renewed activity were visible at the site, demonstrating Iran’s determination to restore and strengthen its medium-range ballistic missile capabilities.  

This rebuild underscores the persistent strategic threat posed by Iran’s missile program to Israel, Gulf Arab states, and U.S. forces stationed throughout the region. During the June 2025 conflict, Iranian missiles targeted Israeli and American assets, highlighting the program’s operational reach and potential for future escalation. Additionally, Iran’s strikes on a U.S. base in Qatar serve as a stark reminder of the program’s ability to directly challenge American military presence and regional stability.  

Experts emphasize that any future agreement with Iran must include clear, enforceable measures to dismantle its missile infrastructure, rigorous and intrusive oversight, and meaningful consequences for non-compliance. Without such guarantees, Iran’s post-ceasefire reconstruction efforts demonstrate a high likelihood of continued threat proliferation, undermining both regional security and broader international stability.  

The Isfahan site serves as a case study of Tehran’s post-conflict priorities, illustrating that despite international scrutiny and temporary setbacks, Iran remains committed to rebuilding and expanding its strategic missile capabilities.
