New York City Mayor Eric Adams has outlined his plans for life after leaving office in January, revealing a mix of academic, creative, and international pursuits.

Just a day after hinting at three potential “dream job” offers, Adams told reporters he intends to return to school to pursue a doctorate, write a book, and produce a documentary. He also mentioned that his next chapter could involve a role connected to international work, saying it may include “things in other countries.”

The announcement comes as Adams prepares to wrap up his tenure amid ongoing challenges in the city, including public safety, housing, and migrant issues. Despite the controversies surrounding his administration, Adams appeared optimistic about his future, describing his next phase as an opportunity to “continue serving in new and meaningful ways.”

His remarks suggest a move toward global engagement and public advocacy, marking a shift from City Hall leadership to broader pursuits that could extend beyond New York’s borders.
