Israeli firefighters rescued a couple and their young child after the family became trapped inside their vehicle during severe flooding on Route 80 in the Negev Desert. The incident occurred on December 28, 2025, when flash floods rapidly overwhelmed the roadway, leaving the van surrounded by fast-moving, muddy water.

Emergency crews responded quickly, deploying an inflatable rescue boat and securing ropes to safely reach the stranded family. Firefighters carefully extracted the parents and child from the vehicle and escorted them to dry ground as floodwaters continued to rise in the area.
