The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on December 24, 2025, when a Washington, D.C., police officer was struck by a vehicle while assisting a disabled motorist on the roadway. On-scene video shows an extensive emergency presence, with police cruisers, flashing lights, and traffic brought to a standstill as first responders rushed to provide aid.
