A devastating accident early Sunday morning claimed the lives of four yeshiva bochurim when a drunk driver collided with their vehicle on the New Jersey Turnpike near the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

The crash occurred around 5 a.m. as the group was traveling during bain hazmanim — a brief school break — on a road trip. Authorities confirmed that three of the victims were from Lakewood, New Jersey, and one from South Fallsburg, New York.

Emergency responders arrived swiftly at the scene, but the impact proved fatal for all four young men. The driver responsible for the collision was reportedly under the influence at the time of the crash and is now in police custody pending further investigation.

Community organizations, including Misaskim and local askanim, are coordinating with law enforcement to ensure kavod hameis (proper respect for the deceased) and to assist the families with all necessary arrangements.
