Elon Musk has publicly questioned Representative Ilhan Omar’s loyalties, suggesting that her actions may not fully align with U.S. national interests. In a December 9 interview with podcaster Kate Berning, Musk remarked, "Let's look at Ilhan Omar: who is literally voted into power by a large group of people from Somalia, in Minnesota, which is really far from Somalia!"  

Musk’s comments reflect his broader concerns about demographic shifts in American electoral politics. He has argued on X that Democrats have encouraged immigration in certain districts to create left-leaning voter blocs, using Omar’s Minnesota constituency as a primary example. Historically, Omar’s district had Nordic-German roots, but an influx of Somali immigrants has significantly reshaped the voter base over the past decades.  

While critics argue that Musk’s statements question the democratic representation of immigrant communities, supporters say he is raising important questions about national loyalty and the influence of demographic changes on U.S. elections.
