A high-speed police chase in Malibu ended in a violent crash Friday evening after a carjacking suspect fled with three children inside the stolen vehicle.

The pursuit came to a halt along the Pacific Coast Highway, where the suspect lost control and collided with multiple obstacles. Officers quickly rushed to the scene to rescue the children, including two older kids and a younger child secured in a car seat.

All three children appeared to be conscious and breathing when pulled from the wreckage. They were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Authorities have not released details on the children’s conditions but confirmed that their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

The suspect was taken into custody at the scene. Officials say the investigation is ongoing, with charges expected to include carjacking, child endangerment, and felony evading police.

The dramatic incident brought heavy traffic to a standstill along one of California’s busiest coastal highways.
