GAZA — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released footage of a Kfir Brigade clash in Khan Yunis, where around 20 Hamas militants attempted to abduct Israeli soldiers.

According to the IDF, the abduction attempt was thwarted after a fierce exchange of fire. Roughly 10 of the attackers were killed in the battle, with the rest retreating.

The footage, released by the military, shows the moment fighters tried to overpower Israeli troops before being repelled.

Israeli officials said the incident highlights Hamas’s continued efforts to capture soldiers as bargaining chips, while underscoring the dangers faced by ground forces operating inside Gaza.

The Khan Yunis area has become a focal point of intense clashes in recent weeks, as Israeli troops press operations against Hamas strongholds.
