Israeli officials pushed back strongly against a recent IPC report accusing Israel of causing famine in Gaza, calling the assessment fraudulent and influenced by Hamas propaganda.
At a briefing to the international media, Director General Eden Bar Tal presented new information challenging the report’s credibility.
"Echoing Hamas claims by certain media outlets is irresponsible and it’s siding with Hamas, the worst terror organization known to everybody," Bar Tal said. "Relying on information coming from Hamas is not just being fooled by them, it is conspiring with them."
Israel’s leadership argued that the findings were politically motivated and failed to account for Israel’s ongoing humanitarian efforts. Officials accused Hamas of manipulating data to further its narrative and pressure the international community.
The dispute underscores the broader information war running parallel to the conflict, as both Israel and Hamas seek to influence global opinion on the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
