Smoke rose over Gaza City on Saturday as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) escalated airstrikes against Hamas strongholds, part of a sweeping military operation aimed at dismantling the terror group’s grip on the enclave.

Tens of thousands of Palestinians have begun evacuating Gaza City as Israel prepares the ground for what officials describe as a decisive campaign to stamp out Hamas.
