Egypt has deployed dozens of bulldozers and construction vehicles into Gaza to help build additional camps for displaced Palestinians, following the conclusion of the 2025 Gaza City offensive.
Footage from October 4 shows a convoy of Egyptian-flagged bulldozers entering Gaza through the Rafah crossing, surrounded by large crowds. According to reports from The Yeshiva World and official statements, the heavy equipment is part of Cairo’s ongoing humanitarian effort to address the massive displacement crisis in the region.
The new construction aims to expand temporary shelters near Bureij, providing space and essential infrastructure for over 1.9 million Palestinians who have been displaced amid the devastation. The United Nations and Egyptian authorities have both emphasized the urgent need for additional shelter, sanitation, and medical facilities as rubble clearance operations continue across Gaza.
Egypt’s move underscores its active role in facilitating humanitarian aid and supporting reconstruction efforts in coordination with international partners.
