The Israeli army carried out a raid in the West Bank city of Ramallah, sparking clashes with Palestinian youths, according to local reports.
Wafa, the Palestinian Authority’s official news agency, said Israeli forces stormed a currency exchange shop during the operation and detained at least three people. Witnesses described confrontations between soldiers and residents, with stones thrown and tear gas fired as tensions escalated in the city center.
Ramallah, the administrative capital of the Palestinian Authority, has seen frequent raids by Israeli forces since the outbreak of the Gaza war in October 2023. Israeli officials say such operations target militants and infrastructure linked to armed groups, while Palestinians accuse Israel of deepening its military presence and undermining civilian life in the occupied West Bank.
The raid adds to a growing cycle of violence across the region, as clashes intensify both in Gaza and the West Bank. Human rights organizations have warned of mounting instability, with fears that unrest in Ramallah could spread to other Palestinian cities.
