Commerce Secretary Adam Lutnick announced the fee structure for the Trump Gold Card visa program, confirming that individuals will pay $1 million, while corporations can secure a foreign employee’s U.S. residency for $2 million. The program provides a streamlined pathway to permanent residency and eventual citizenship, following comprehensive vetting procedures.

Launched via executive order in September 2025, the Trump Gold Card program is a reimagined EB-5 investor visa. Unlike the traditional program, which required job-creation metrics, the new initiative allows applicants and corporations to make direct payments to the U.S. Treasury. The funds are projected to generate billions in revenue, earmarked for national infrastructure projects, without requiring congressional approval.

“The Gold Card provides an efficient, transparent route for high-value individuals and corporations to invest in America while securing residency for themselves or their employees,” Lutnick said. He emphasized that the program combines economic growth, national security vetting, and a pathway to citizenship into a single framework.

Under the program, individual applicants submit a $1 million “gift” to the Treasury, after which they and their immediate family members may receive expedited permanent residency. Corporations investing $2 million per foreign employee can secure residency for key talent, enhancing America’s competitiveness in technology, research, and global business sectors.

The Trump Gold Card has already attracted attention from international investors and corporate leaders, with officials projecting the program will fund major infrastructure initiatives while simultaneously attracting highly skilled global talent. Lutnick noted that the executive-order approach allows the program to bypass delays associated with traditional congressional approval, delivering immediate economic benefits.

By linking foreign investment directly to U.S. infrastructure and citizenship pathways, the Trump administration aims to strengthen both the economy and national workforce, creating a new model for investor visas in the 21st century.
