Veteran broadcaster Bill O’Reilly has weighed in on the latest poll shaking up the New York City mayoral race, zeroing in on State Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani’s surprising numbers against Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa.
O’Reilly described the media reaction to the survey as “poll hysteria,” noting that while Mamdani’s performance in the matchup is noteworthy, it is too early to treat the results as a reliable predictor of the election outcome.
“People are running wild with these numbers,” O’Reilly said, cautioning that early polls often reflect name recognition and temporary momentum rather than a solid electoral trend.
The poll, which showed a closer-than-expected race, has fueled debate among political observers about the direction of New York City politics. For O’Reilly, however, the frenzy says more about the media environment than about the long-term viability of either candidate.
