Israeli forces from Brigade Combat Team 55 have uncovered a significant cache of weapons deliberately hidden within civilian infrastructure in the village of Majdal Zun in southern Lebanon. Operating in the security zone, the troops discovered dozens of arms including Kalashnikov rifles, grenades, anti-tank missiles, and mortar shells embedded inside civilian buildings. The IDF released footage showing the weapons mixed among rubble and debris, clearly illustrating Hezbollah’s cynical tactic of using populated areas as cover for its terror infrastructure. This discovery forms part of ongoing operations to eliminate threats to Israeli communities in the north.

The 32-second video released by the military uses overhead views and clear labeling to highlight RPG warheads, grenade clusters, and ammunition belts concealed in the structures. Troops also dismantled buildings that had been used by Hezbollah terrorists. Similar weapons caches have been reported in the area earlier this year, underscoring the persistent danger posed by the Iranian-backed group. The IDF emphasized that it will continue operating to remove any threat to its forces and will not allow Hezbollah to harm Israeli civilians.

This latest find once again exposes Hezbollah’s deliberate strategy of embedding military assets among civilians, a practice that endangers Lebanese residents while preparing attacks against Israel. The security zone remains essential for protecting northern Israeli communities from precisely these kinds of threats. As long as Hezbollah continues to stockpile weapons and prepare for war under the cover of civilian life, the IDF’s determined efforts to dismantle that infrastructure are both necessary and justified.
