CALIFORNIA — A 46-year-old man survived a harrowing two-day ordeal after becoming trapped behind one of the Seven Teacups waterfalls in California.
Ryan Wardwell was abseiling down the rugged cascade when he became stuck behind the rushing water, unable to escape. With no clear way out, he endured two days of isolation before authorities located him.
In a dramatic operation, police used a helicopter to extract Wardwell from the perilous spot. He was airlifted to safety and later treated for dehydration and minor injuries.
The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office hailed the incident as a “stunning survival story,” underscoring both Wardwell’s resilience and the dangers of extreme outdoor activities.
Officials also reminded adventurers to exercise caution when tackling California’s challenging natural landscapes, stressing the importance of preparation and safety measures.
