Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for tougher international sanctions targeting terminals involved in shipping and receiving Russian oil.
In a video message released on social media, Zelensky stressed that restricting Russia’s energy exports is critical to weakening Moscow’s ability to finance its ongoing war against Ukraine.
“Strong sanctions against terminals shipping and receiving Russian oil are necessary,” Zelensky said, urging Western allies to close loopholes that allow Russian energy to reach global markets.
Oil exports remain one of Russia’s primary sources of revenue despite existing sanctions. Kyiv has consistently pushed for stricter enforcement and additional measures aimed at cutting off the Kremlin’s economic lifeline.
Zelensky’s remarks come as Ukraine continues to rally support from its allies while facing sustained Russian attacks across multiple fronts.
