The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff personally met with the soldier who intervened during a fierce Hamas assault in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, praising his quick and decisive actions.

The incident took place during an attack on an IDF base, where Hamas militants attempted to strike with heavy weaponry. In the heat of battle, a tank from the 74th Armored Battalion rammed into an RPG-armed terrorist, neutralizing the threat before the militant could fire.

The Chief of Staff commended the soldier, stating:
“Your decision-making, with that RPG, probably saved many lives.”

The IDF emphasized that such actions demonstrate the critical role of on-the-ground decisions in saving soldiers’ lives and preventing further escalation during ongoing clashes in Gaza.

This latest confrontation highlights the intensity of the fighting in Khan Younis, where Hamas continues to target IDF positions despite sustained Israeli ground operations.
