President Donald Trump confirmed tonight that the body of U.S.-Israeli hostage Omer Neutra has been returned by Hamas, along with the remains of two other hostages. Speaking to reporters, President Trump said he personally spoke with Neutra’s parents to express his condolences and assure them of his administration’s continuing efforts to bring every American and Israeli hostage home.
“Omer Neutra’s body was returned tonight,” President Trump said. “We spoke with his parents — they’ve been through unimaginable pain. We’re making every possible effort to bring the remaining hostages back, including the body of Itay Chen, which Hamas continues to hold.”
Omer Neutra, a 22-year-old dual U.S.-Israeli citizen, was kidnapped by Hamas during the October 7 attacks and had been listed among the missing for months. His death and the recovery of his body mark a tragic but important step in ongoing negotiations aimed at returning both living hostages and the remains of those killed in captivity.
The President’s statement follows weeks of intensified U.S.-Israel coordination, as American intelligence and diplomatic channels work to pressure Hamas and its backers to release all captives. Trump praised the Israeli Defense Forces for their relentless operations in Gaza and reaffirmed the United States’ “unbreakable bond” with Israel during this difficult time.
While the recovery offers some closure for Neutra’s family, the fate of others, including fellow U.S.-Israeli hostage Itay Chen, remains unresolved. President Trump reiterated that the mission to bring every American home — alive or fallen — “is not over and never will be until justice is done.”
The somber announcement underscores both the human cost of the conflict and the determination of the Trump administration to secure the return of every hostage, reflecting America’s steadfast support for Israel in its fight against Hamas terrorism.
