Dramatic bodycam footage shows a Michigan firefighter crawling through smoke and broken glass to rescue a 76-year-old man trapped inside a burning home.

The video, released by the Chesterfield Police and Fire Department on Wednesday (September 10), captures the harrowing moment as firefighters pushed through dangerous conditions to reach the man, who had suffered burns on the left side of his body.

Emergency crews pulled him from the flames and rushed him to Detroit Receiving Hospital, where he was placed on a ventilator. As of Monday, officials reported he remains in critical but stable condition.

Authorities praised the firefighter’s bravery, noting that the rescue likely prevented a tragic loss of life.
