Over the past few hours, Iranian state media have continued to report false claims by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) – three in particular. 
 

FIRST CLAIM: The IRGC (again) claims free and open routes through the Strait of Hormuz are dangerous for commercial vessels. 
FACT: The immediate dangers posed to commercial vessels and their civilian crews are the IRGC’s verbal threats and attempted attacks. 

SECOND CLAIM: The IRGC claims Three U.S. F-35 stealth fighters and three other aircraft were destroyed during a recent Iranian attack on an American air base.
  FACT: No U.S. aircraft were destroyed or damaged in recent attempted Iranian attacks. All missiles and drones were intercepted or failed to reach targeted areas. 

THIRD CLAIM: Iranian state media is reporting that a commercial oil tanker, M/T Nora, has broken through the U.S. blockade. 
FACT: The commercial vessel has not broken through America’s steel wall blockade. More than 20 U.S. warships, hundreds of aircraft, and thousands of service members remain vigilant and continue to fully enforce the blockade.

U.S. Central Command has issued a clear fact-check rejecting multiple false claims being circulated by Iranian state media and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The IRGC alleged that commercial shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz are unsafe, that it destroyed three U.S. F-35 stealth fighters and three additional aircraft in an attack on an American air base, and that the oil tanker M/T Nora successfully broke through a U.S. blockade. CENTCOM systematically dismantled each assertion with facts on the ground.

On the Strait of Hormuz, the command stated that the primary threat to commercial vessels comes from the IRGC’s own threats and attempted attacks, not from any inherent danger in the routes themselves. Regarding the claimed aircraft losses, CENTCOM confirmed that no U.S. aircraft were destroyed or damaged, as all Iranian missiles and drones were either intercepted or failed to reach their targets. On the tanker, the military reported there is no indication the M/T Nora breached the blockade, which continues to be fully enforced by more than 20 U.S. warships, hundreds of aircraft, and thousands of service members.

This latest round of Iranian propaganda underscores the regime’s reliance on disinformation when its military efforts fall short. American forces have repeatedly demonstrated the ability to intercept threats and maintain operational control.
