HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — Hastings High School was evacuated Friday morning after a minor chemical spill in a chemistry classroom, officials confirmed.
The incident occurred on Mount Hope Boulevard, just days after students returned to class for the new school year. Emergency protocols were activated, and students were safely evacuated from the building.
Several students received immediate care from the school nurse, while at least one or two were transported to a hospital for further treatment. Their conditions have not been disclosed.
Authorities said the situation was quickly contained, and investigators are working to determine the exact cause of the spill.
Parents were notified by school officials, and updates are expected as the investigation continues.
