Flights at Copenhagen Airport, Scandinavia’s largest aviation hub, were suspended or diverted Monday night following reports of “2–3 large drones” in restricted airspace, according to Danish police.
The airport confirmed that “unidentified drones” forced the grounding of outgoing flights and the diversion of incoming aircraft to nearby airports.
Local media footage showed a heavy police presence around the airport, with authorities investigating the source and intent of the drone activity.
The disruption has triggered widespread delays across both Denmark and Norway, raising security concerns and leaving passengers stranded.
Officials have not yet provided a timeline for when normal operations will resume.
