THAI-CAMBODIAN BORDER — Tensions along the Thailand–Cambodia border escalated further this morning as four F-16 fighter jets from the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) carried out a new wave of precision airstrikes targeting critical Cambodian Army positions near the Prasat Ta Muen Thom temple area.

According to a statement from the Thai military, the operation was aimed at "neutralizing key threats" following recent clashes and what Thai officials have described as “continued military provocations” by Cambodian forces.

Footage released by the RTAF shows F-16s conducting aerial bombing runs on fortified Cambodian positions. The strikes reportedly hit command posts, artillery units, and supply depots. Casualty figures on the Cambodian side have not yet been independently verified.

“These strikes were carefully coordinated to avoid civilian areas and are part of a defensive posture in response to cross-border aggression,” a Thai military spokesperson said.

The targeted area, Prasat Ta Muen Thom, lies near a disputed section of the border and has been a flashpoint for military standoffs between the two nations in the past. The temple, while culturally significant, also sits near key strategic terrain.

Cambodian authorities have not yet issued a formal response, though military sources in Phnom Penh have acknowledged "losses" and pledged retaliation if further air raids occur.

International observers are urging restraint from both sides, fearing that continued escalation could destabilize the region and result in wider civilian displacement.
