טראמפ זאגט פאר סענאט רעפובליקאנער: 'אונז גייען נישט ווערן אויסגעקוועטשט דורך דעמאקראטן'

President Donald Trump delivered a firm message to Senate Republicans amid the ongoing government shutdown, declaring that his administration and party “will NOT be extorted” by Democrats demanding political concessions before reopening the government.
“From the beginning, our message has been very simple: we will NOT be extorted,” Trump said during a closed-door meeting with Senate GOP members. He urged Democrats — led by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer — to support the clean, bipartisan Continuing Resolution (CR) and end the shutdown immediately.
“Chuck Schumer and the Senate Democrats need to vote for the clean, bipartisan CR and reopen our government!” Trump emphasized, calling on the opposition to stop using federal workers and American families as bargaining chips in their political strategy.
Republicans have accused Democrats of deliberately stalling progress to score political points while millions of federal employees face delayed paychecks and essential services are disrupted. The White House insists that the bipartisan CR represents a fair, practical path forward — ensuring government operations continue while Congress debates broader funding issues.
Trump’s statement underscores a growing frustration within GOP ranks, as conservatives rally behind the President’s stance to end the shutdown without surrendering to Democrat demands.
“The American people expect leadership,” Trump said, “not extortion, not gridlock, and not political theater.”
