Hezbollah has released new footage claiming to show one of its long-range rocket attacks striking a communications installation in Israel’s Shfela region, highlighting the group’s continued ability to launch deep strikes into Israeli territory amid escalating tensions along the northern border. The video, circulated through the organization’s media channels, depicts the launch of a heavy rocket from southern Lebanon followed by impact footage presented as a successful strike on a communications facility.

The rocket used in the attack is identified as the Nasser-2, a large unguided artillery rocket designed for long-distance bombardment. According to technical descriptions circulated by the group, the Nasser-2 has an approximate range of 150 kilometers and carries an explosive warhead weighing roughly 140 kilograms. Its size and payload place it among the heavier rockets in Hezbollah’s arsenal, allowing it to reach targets far beyond Israel’s northern border regions and into central areas of the country.

The footage released by Hezbollah includes Arabic-language overlays that claim the rocket struck a communications base associated with a satellite facility located in the Shfela region of central Israel. The site referenced in the video is reported to be connected to satellite communications infrastructure operated by the international satellite operator SES S.A., a Luxembourg-based company that provides communications services used by commercial and governmental clients around the world.

Within the video, animated graphics and targeting overlays attempt to illustrate the trajectory of the rocket and the intended target. Hezbollah’s messaging emphasizes what it describes as precision targeting of a strategic communications installation, framing the strike as part of a broader campaign against Israeli military and technological infrastructure.

Security analysts note that while rockets like the Nasser-2 are unguided and therefore less accurate than guided missile systems, their large warhead and extended range can still pose a serious threat when fired toward populated or strategic areas. Even without pinpoint accuracy, such weapons are capable of causing significant damage if they strike infrastructure or densely populated zones.

The attack comes amid intensifying cross-border hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah during the broader regional conflict that has expanded throughout 2026. Earlier in the week, Israeli defense officials reported that more than seventy rockets had been launched from southern Lebanon into northern and central Israel on March 6 alone. Israeli air defense systems intercepted many of the projectiles, though several rockets managed to reach Israeli territory.

Hezbollah’s decision to release footage of the launch appears intended to demonstrate the group’s operational capability and maintain psychological pressure during the conflict. Publicizing long-range attacks serves both as a propaganda tool and as a signal to adversaries that the organization retains the ability to threaten targets deep inside Israel despite ongoing Israeli military operations against its infrastructure.

From a strategic standpoint, long-range rocket systems like the Nasser-2 form a key component of Hezbollah’s deterrence strategy. By maintaining the ability to reach central Israeli regions, the group seeks to impose costs on Israel during any prolonged confrontation. Israel, for its part, has invested heavily in layered missile defense systems designed to intercept incoming rockets and reduce the potential damage from such attacks.

The growing exchange of strikes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces has raised concerns among regional observers about the risk of a broader escalation along the Israel-Lebanon frontier. The border has remained one of the most volatile flashpoints in the Middle East, with both sides possessing large arsenals and significant military capabilities.

As the conflict continues to evolve, the release of videos documenting rocket launches and strikes has become a common feature of the information battle accompanying the fighting. Such footage is often intended to shape perceptions of strength and success, even as the situation on the ground remains fluid and difficult to independently verify.

The latest video underscores the reality that the northern front remains highly active, with both military and strategic communications infrastructure now part of the expanding list of targets. Whether the escalation will remain limited to cross-border exchanges or expand into a wider confrontation remains uncertain, but the continued use of long-range rockets highlights the persistent risks facing communities and critical infrastructure across the region.
