The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Israel’s internal security agency, Shin Bet, announced a joint operation in Lebanon that successfully eliminated a senior operative linked to Iran’s Quds Force.
The individual, identified as Hassin Mahmoud Marshad Al-Johari, was a member of Unit 840, the external operations wing of the Quds Force. The operation took place in the Natsariya area, a rural region near the Syria–Lebanon border, where Al-Johari had reportedly been involved in planning attacks against Israeli targets.
According to official statements, the operation was meticulously coordinated between the IDF and Shin Bet, utilizing precision aerial tactics to neutralize the threat without risking civilian casualties. Drone footage released by Israel shows a white vehicle along a country road being struck in a controlled strike, resulting in a targeted explosion, fire, and vehicle destruction. The footage underscores Israel’s continued emphasis on intelligence-driven, surgical operations against Iranian proxies.
Officials emphasized that Al-Johari had been active in planning attacks from both Lebanon and Syria, and his elimination disrupts ongoing Quds Force plots against Israel. The operation comes amid heightened regional tensions and reflects Israel’s commitment to proactively defend its borders and citizens against threats from Iran-backed actors.
The IDF and Shin Bet joint announcement highlights the effectiveness of coordinated intelligence and military capabilities in addressing security threats beyond Israel’s borders, demonstrating the nation’s resolve in countering Iranian influence and proxy networks in the region.
