In an exclusive interview with I24NEWS, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that Israel’s recent airstrike on Iran’s nuclear facilities would have taken place with or without U.S. support. Calling the mission a “historic operation,” Netanyahu claimed the strike set back Tehran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs by years.
While emphasizing Israel’s readiness to act independently, Netanyahu acknowledged the cooperation of then-U.S. President Donald Trump, framing the mission as a decisive move against one of Israel’s most dangerous adversaries.
The prime minister also detailed Israel’s ongoing campaign against other major threats, including targeted operations against senior leaders of Hezbollah and Hamas—actions he described as essential to ensuring Israel’s long-term security.
Turning to the war in Gaza, Netanyahu hinted that current ceasefire talks are centering on a single comprehensive agreement that would secure the release of all remaining hostages at once, rather than through a phased deal.
