Metropolitan Police officers have seized an estimated £80,000 worth of suspected stolen goods during an operation at a car boot sale in Hounslow, west London, underscoring growing concerns over organized tool theft.

The enforcement action took place on December 11 and resulted in the recovery of approximately 400 power tools believed to have been stolen. Police arrested two adult men and two teenage boys on suspicion of handling stolen goods. All individuals remain under investigation as authorities work to determine the full scope of the operation.

The seizure follows increased scrutiny of car boot sales as potential hubs for fencing stolen equipment, particularly high-value tools targeted in thefts from tradespeople and construction sites.
