At least four people were killed after Russia launched a barrage of drones and missiles against Ukraine overnight into Sunday, striking civilian areas in the capital city of Kyiv.
According to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Administration, another 10 people were injured in the attack, which left homes in ruins and residents scrambling for safety. Among the dead was a 12-year-old girl, underscoring the human toll of the strikes.
This marks the first major bombardment since last month, when an air assault on Kyiv killed at least 21 people. Ukrainian officials condemned the attack as another deliberate strike on civilians, while emergency services continued rescue and recovery operations throughout the day.
The overnight assault highlights the ongoing intensity of the war, with Kyiv once again bearing the brunt of Russian missile and drone campaigns.
