Tragedy struck Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina on December 18, 2025, when a Cessna C550 jet carrying retired NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, his wife Jordan, their two children, and three additional passengers crash-landed, resulting in seven fatalities.

Newly released video footage shows the plane making a fiery impact on the runway, immediately engulfed in flames. Authorities confirmed that all aboard the aircraft were killed.

Biffle, the 2007 NASCAR Cup Series champion with 19 career wins, was widely recognized for both his racing achievements and his philanthropic work. Earlier in 2025, he led major civilian relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina, highlighting his commitment to community service.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched a joint investigation into the cause of the crash. Airport officials and local emergency responders were on the scene quickly, but the impact and ensuing fire left no survivors.

Fans, colleagues, and the NASCAR community have expressed shock and mourning over Biffle’s death, honoring both his career on the track and his contributions off it.

Further updates will be provided as investigators release information regarding the circumstances leading to the accident.
