A Maryland man has been arrested after authorities say he impersonated a police officer while driving a van designed to resemble a police cruiser.

The suspect, identified as 67-year-old Alejandro Ceferino Zunca, was pulled over after an officer noticed the vehicle displaying red and blue lights. The van was also marked with the words “Police” and “Policia” on its rear doors, raising immediate suspicion.

When questioned, Zunca was found carrying a fake badge and a replica pistol. Investigators say the setup appeared intended to mislead others into believing he was a law enforcement officer.

Officials confirmed Zunca is facing charges of impersonating a police officer, with additional violations under review. Authorities urged the public to remain cautious and to report any suspicious vehicles or individuals claiming to be officers without proper identification.
