Ukrainian Drone Strikes Wildberries Warehouse Near St. Petersburg

Video footage captured a Ukrainian drone striking a large Wildberries distribution warehouse near St. Petersburg, producing a visible explosion and a rising plume of black smoke. The attack targeted one of the major logistics facilities belonging to Russia’s dominant online retailer. Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces commander Robert Brovdi confirmed the August 4 strikes on Wildberries sites in the Leningrad region adjacent to St. Petersburg, as well as facilities in the Moscow and Tver regions.

These hits form part of a sustained campaign that has damaged or destroyed at least 15 Wildberries hubs since mid-July. By reaching deep into Russian territory far from the front lines, the drone operations disrupt critical supply chains and inflict economic losses on a company central to Russia’s consumer and logistics networks. Brovdi’s forces have repeatedly demonstrated the ability to penetrate Russian air defenses and strike high-value economic targets.

Wildberries warehouses serve as key nodes for sorting and distributing goods across vast areas of Russia. Repeated successful attacks force the company to suspend operations, redistribute inventory, and absorb significant financial damage. The cumulative effect pressures the broader Russian economy while highlighting the growing reach and precision of Ukrainian unmanned systems.

The ongoing campaign underscores Ukraine’s determination to impose costs on Russia beyond the battlefield. Striking logistics infrastructure far from the combat zone expands the conflict’s economic dimension and challenges Russian claims of secure rear areas. Further operations of this type are likely as Ukrainian forces continue refining long-range drone capabilities against high-impact targets.
