LOS ANGELES, CA — A high-speed police pursuit through the streets of Los Angeles came to a dramatic end after the LAPD successfully executed a PIT maneuver on a stolen SUV late Monday afternoon.

The chase began when officers attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, which had been reported stolen earlier in the day. Instead of pulling over, the driver fled at high speeds, weaving through traffic and running red lights in a dangerous attempt to evade capture.

After a tense chase across several city blocks, LAPD officers used the Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) to force the SUV into a controlled spin, bringing it to a stop. The driver was immediately taken into custody without further incident.

“It was a textbook execution of the PIT maneuver,” said one officer at the scene. “We’re thankful no bystanders were injured.”

The suspect’s identity has not been released, and charges are pending. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the vehicle theft.
