Texas Game Wardens successfully rescued a fisherman who spent nearly four hours stranded in the middle of Lake Tawakoni after being launched from his boat. Steven Otto was fishing when his vessel struck a tree stump hidden in the water, throwing him overboard. The Tawakoni Volunteer Fire Department arrived first and located his empty boat, but there was no sign of the missing angler, prompting them to call in additional help.

Warden Dewayne Noble later shared a memorable exchange from the rescue, recalling that Otto remarked, “That’s a whole lot of resources for one person.” Noble and his partner responded that there is no price on a human life and that their only goal was to find him.
