A smuggled video message circulating through unofficial channels shows an anonymous Iranian describing what they say are widespread killings and mass repression during ongoing nationwide protests, amid a near-total internet shutdown across the country.

In the video, the speaker repeatedly urges people outside Iran to act as a conduit for information, saying the scale of violence far exceeds publicly reported figures and warning that further mass killings may be imminent.

“You cannot even imagine what is happening in Iran,” the speaker says. “Thousands and thousands have been killed. Friends and loved ones—everyone has been killed. Just be our voice. The world needs to hear this.”

The individual claims that security forces have carried out killings in residential areas, including outside people’s homes, and that minors have been among the dead. The speaker describes scenes of summary violence and says fear of surveillance and phone tapping limits what can be safely communicated.

“If nothing happens in the next few days, they will all be massacred,” the speaker warns. “All of Iran is being massacred. The situation is truly horrific and indescribable.”

The message also describes a sweeping information blackout, with authorities allegedly shutting down internet access and seizing satellite equipment, severely restricting the flow of images and reports from inside the country. This has made independent verification of casualty figures and events extremely difficult.

The speaker disputes circulating death toll estimates, calling commonly cited figures “laughable” compared to what they claim to have witnessed, and alleges that crimes against humanity are taking place.

“We went back 100 years ago,” the speaker says. “Only the outside can help. We can’t do anything here with our empty hands.”

Due to the communications blackout and risks faced by sources inside Iran, the identity of the speaker and the full extent of the claims cannot be independently confirmed. However, the video reflects a growing number of urgent appeals from Iranians attempting to bypass censorship to draw international attention to the government’s response to the protests.

Human rights organizations have repeatedly warned that Iran’s use of lethal force, mass arrests, and information suppression raises serious concerns under international human rights law, and have called for independent investigations and accountability.

The video concludes with a direct appeal to viewers to share the message widely so that the situation inside Iran is not obscured by the ongoing blackout.
