President Donald Trump described his face-to-face meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska as “very productive,” emphasizing that progress was made but cautioning that no formal agreement has been reached.

“There were many, many points that we agreed on,” Trump told reporters after the summit. “There’s no deal until there’s a deal. I will call up NATO, and I’ll of course call up President Zelensky and tell him about today’s meeting. We really made some great progress.”

The meeting, which lasted more than two hours, centered largely on the war in Ukraine and the future of U.S.-Russia relations. While Trump was optimistic in tone, he made clear that the process is still ongoing and that any potential agreement would involve consultations with key allies, including NATO and Ukraine’s leadership.

Analysts say Trump’s remarks reflect both a desire to project momentum and an acknowledgment of the complex negotiations still ahead. The Alaska summit has already captured worldwide attention, with observers closely watching how Washington and Moscow navigate one of the most critical geopolitical crises in decades.
