U.S. forces have carried out a maritime operation in the Indo-Pacific region, boarding the stateless oil tanker M/T Tifani without any incidents.The vessel, which is under U.S. sanctions for its links to Iran’s illicit oil trade, was intercepted in international waters as part of efforts to disrupt networks providing material support to Iran.The Department of War stated: “International waters are not a refuge for sanctioned vessels.”Video of the operation shows U.S. naval teams, helicopters, and the large red tanker at sea.This is the latest in a series of U.S. interdictions targeting shadow fleet tankers evading sanctions.
