West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey announced new agreements between U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and state law enforcement agencies, aimed at strengthening cooperation on immigration enforcement.

Highlighting what he sees as the effectiveness of Trump-era policies, Morrisey said, “The success from the Trump Administration with respect to addressing the really difficult immigration issues, that's a story that needs to be told far and wide across the country.”

The agreements are expected to expand state and local participation in federal immigration operations, focusing on the detention, transfer, and removal of individuals who violate immigration laws.
