Charlie Kirk Warns of ‘Debt Trap’ Enslaving Gen Z in New Tucker Carlson Network Podcast

UNITED STATES — Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk is sounding the alarm over what he calls a “debt trap” ensnaring more than 60% of Generation Z, arguing that financial burdens are not only crippling young Americans — but also fueling political radicalization.

In a recent appearance on the Tucker Carlson Network podcast, Kirk laid out a blunt message: student loans, credit card debt, and skyrocketing living costs are driving a growing number of young people toward left-wing ideology, as many feel betrayed by the promise of the American Dream.

“This is not just an economic crisis — it’s a cultural and political one,” Kirk said. “Debt has become a leash. It’s no surprise Gen Z is angry, and we need to be honest about who helped put them in this position.”

Kirk didn’t shy away from assigning blame. He pointed to Boomer-era policies, inflationary spending, and the unfulfilled promises of college degrees as key contributors to a broken system that leaves many young adults burdened before they ever get a chance to build wealth.

According to Kirk, this debt crisis is being exploited by political actors who offer debt relief in exchange for loyalty, shifting entire generations toward dependence on government over personal responsibility.

He called for a renewed emphasis on financial literacy, alternative education paths, and a culture shift that values entrepreneurship, skilled trades, and delayed gratification.

“We can’t save the country unless we first rescue its future — and that starts with freeing Gen Z from this modern form of economic slavery,” Kirk said.
