Russian “Iskander-M” short-range ballistic missiles were spotted earlier today on the E28 Highway in Kaliningrad, only a few miles from the border with Poland.

The deployment comes as part of the ongoing “Zapad-2025” military exercises taking place in Belarus and Western Russia. The large-scale drills are designed to simulate both a conventional and nuclear conflict with the United States and NATO, raising concerns among Western officials about Moscow’s strategic intentions.

The presence of the Iskander-M, a system capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear warheads, highlights the escalatory tone of the exercises. NATO has yet to release a formal response, but the movements are being closely monitored given the proximity to Alliance territory.

These drills mark one of Russia’s most significant shows of military strength in recent years, sending a message of deterrence at a time of heightened geopolitical tensions.
