Three Hezbollah operatives were killed in Israeli drone strikes after allegedly preparing to launch drones against Israel Defense Forces troops operating in southern Lebanon, according to the IDF. Israeli military officials said soldiers from the Givati Brigade identified the cell north of the Litani River and tracked its movements before coordinating with the Israeli Air Force, which carried out precision strikes as the operatives attempted to flee the area.

The operation did not end with the elimination of the suspected attackers. During subsequent searches, Israeli troops reportedly discovered a weapons depot stocked with rockets, explosive first-person-view (FPV) drones, and other military equipment believed to be intended for future attacks on Israeli forces. The IDF said the cache was destroyed to prevent it from being used in additional operations against Israel.

The incident underscores Israel’s ongoing security concerns along its northern border despite repeated military pressure on Hezbollah. Israeli officials and supporters argue that the latest operation demonstrates how the Iran-backed terrorist group remains armed, organized, and actively engaged in planning attacks, reinforcing Israel’s position that continued vigilance and decisive military action are necessary to protect its troops and civilian population from persistent threats.
