JERUSALEM — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reacted with anguish to the release of disturbing new videos by Hamas, showing visibly emaciated Israeli hostages Evyatar David and Rom Braslavski.

“I was deeply shocked by the horrifying images,” Netanyahu said in a brief statement, calling the footage “a cruel display of psychological warfare and inhumanity.”

The videos, released by Hamas amid ongoing negotiations and international pressure, have ignited a fresh wave of anger and urgency across Israel. Families of the hostages have renewed their calls for immediate government action to secure the release of their loved ones.

Israeli officials say the clips only underscore the "inhumane conditions" in which captives are believed to be held, and further validate accusations that Hamas is "exploiting civilians as leverage."

The Prime Minister reaffirmed his commitment to bringing all hostages home, saying, “We will not rest until they are returned — alive and safe.”
